First Aid is obviously a vital skill, and from 2006 the ATC has introduced a formal qualification to recognise this. Working in conjunction with St John Ambulance Service, the ATC now offers cadets the opportunity to gain the St John Ambulance Young LifeSaver Plus award (see the badge shown on left). The badge is green for those cadets whom are aged 16 plus.

Cadets will have received fourteen hours of first aid training, culminating in a practical assessment.
